Good Guy Romances

Now Now guys, we all know everyone loves a bad guy! But what about all those boy next door sweet good guys? I’m not talking like so nice they’re friend zoned, but you know the overall wholesome nice guy who you can’t help but love! I’m sure someone out there prefers a good guy over a bad one....maybe.. possibly? HOPEFULLY. JUST KIDDING! In real life I love me a good man who has his priorities straight! You know the one, that sweet guy with manners that clearly was raised right by his mama!!! I love reading about a dangerous bad boy, but every now and then I come across a really wonderful romance with a good guy that just makes you fall in love! So here are my top five favorite good guy romances, and I hope you fall in love with these Mr.Right’s just as much as I did! Just remember nice guys don't always finish last! xo

1. The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez

Don’t let the title of this book scare you away!! Josh Copeland is barely friend zoned in this book and our girl Kristen knows damn well he probably couldn't even scratch the surface of the friend zone! This is a new release and the hype around this book is WELL deserved! It’s my number one on this list because if you were to look up good guy in the dictionary there would be a picture of Josh Copeland! From the very first time Josh and Kristen meet you’re intrigued and definitely entertained! Kristen is such a strong character and I loved her from the moment we met her! She’s hilarious and takes absolutely NO crap from anyone, and how cute is her freaking dog Stuntman Mike!! Josh is definitely a people pleaser and from the moment Kristen meets him she knows he’s the type of guy every girl wants as a husband. Of course she doesn’t want him as a husband, you know because of her boyfriend and all..... So she does the next best (and most rational) thing and reluctantly hires him to help build small dog stairs for her company. You and I both know a friendship is going to bloom from such close proximity, and Josh really is such a GOOD guy. The whole time they’re friends he’s obviously interested in her but he respects not just her relationship, but her. Unfortunately the more time they spend together the more Josh (and secretly Kristen) realizes how in love they are.
Let me just say that there is no cheating in this book. She breaks up with her boyfriend before anything happens, and honestly her relationship with her boyfriend isn’t a very healthy one. Still not an excuse for falling in love with someone else, but you can’t help what your heart wants and when you read this book you’ll understand why it was so easy for her heart to sway in a different direction. Now this book definitely has it’s fun moments like Josh and Kristen going for food and just becoming really good friends (SURE ;) ), the side characters and the close relationship between everyone, and really just every scene that involves our main couple. Like I said, Kristen is HILARIOUS! However this book does deal with sensitive topics like fertility. In my opinion the author does an amazing job (you can check out my full review for this book) handling the representation and the conclusion of the book. There is also something that happens at the end of this book that I had NO idea was going to happen, and it definitely throws you through a ringer of emotions. So be prepared! Overall though this book is a wonderful five star read that will make you want your own Josh Copeland!

Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children.
Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen—especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family someday. Kristen knows he'd be better off with someone else, but as their attraction grows, it's harder and harder to keep him at arm's length.

2. Trailer Park Heart by Rachel Higginson

You’ve probably seen the title and wondered what this book is doing on this list! Levi and Ruby have history, and not good history. They were rivals in school and Levi was the exact opposite of Ruby. Despite the competition and the bickering there was always something there (it's called attraction Levi) and they both knew it!  However it takes one night to ruin and change everything. Years later Levi comes back to town and is surprised to see Ruby is still there. Living in the same trailer park, and working at the same diner. Ruby who was always larger then life and was going to leave this town and make something of herself. Ruby has a secret though, and if there is one person she doesn’t want to know it’s Levi Cole! Levi is such a good guy, really the best. He’s so intriguing and not your typical “good guy.” Like I said he starts of as her rival and we get that cocky arrogant vibe from him, but the Levi that comes back to town is a grown man. A man who knows what he wants and how to treat the woman he wants. Seeing Levi try and convince Ruby to go on a date with him was so freaking sweet! I kept screaming at her to JUST GO ALREADY! Even when Levi does discover Ruby’s secret he is just as caring and sweet, and eventually you start to see a real future for our main couple but of course things get foggy and the secret Levi thought he knew was even bigger. This author sends you on a rollercoaster of emotions. One minute your happy and sighing and the next your right there with Ruby crying on the couch.
Levi though proves to the very end to be the best kind of guy. Trust me. Some of his scenes are just so sigh worthy. I don’t want to spoil anything because this book is just so good and I feel like to get the entire experience you need to read along and discover things on your own! I highly recommend this book if you want a heartbreakingly lovely read with the ultimate good guy!  So definitely check out Levi Cole and The Trailer Park Heart!

Trailer park born and raised. It’s my legacy. That’s how my mama lived. And that’s how her mama lived. It’s the life I was born into and it’s the life I swore I would leave the second I was old enough to make it out.
Only legacies have a funny way of sneaking up on you. An innocent decision the night of high school graduation led to a series of complications in my plans to escape.
Seven years later, I’ve resigned myself to this small town and the roots I’m tied to. Nothing could make me leave. And nothing could make me spill the secrets that keep me here.
Until he walks back into town with a chip on his shoulder and a stupid hunch nobody else in town has been smart enough to follow.
Levi Cole is my opposite. Born on the right side of the tracks with family money to spare, he’s the kind of black sheep that can afford to be rebellious—because his family will always pay for his mistakes. He’s also the only living heir to Cole Family Farms, after his brother Logan was killed in duty seven years ago.
He sees something in my life that he thinks he has a right to. But he’s wrong. And obnoxious. And he needs to take his stubborn good looks and that intense way he looks at me and go back to wherever it was he came from.
I know better than to trust men like him. I was born and raised in a trailer park, I know nothing good happens to girls like me—girls with trailer park lives and trailer park hearts. Especially from gorgeous, kind, pigheaded men like him.

3. The Butterfly Project by Emma Scott

This was my first Emma Scott book. This was the first time I fell in love with her characters, and so I could never forget Beckett. Sweet, sweet Beckett. Ugh just thinking about him makes me want to reread this book! This book is definitely leaning towards the more emotional side of good guy romances. Yes Beckett is very sweet and such a caring guy, but he’s not the perfect guy. WHO CARES though, am I right!?? The best way to describe Beckett is imperfectly perfect. He is trying SO hard to redeem himself, and on the journey of self redemption he meets Zelda. Zelda has her own troubled past and when the two meet they find something in each other that they both can relate to. Beckett quickly realizes that Zelda doesn’t want to leave the city and give up on her dream so he offers her a place to stay! From the moment they begin living together you truly see how genuine Beckett is and you fall for him right along with Zelda.
There is just something so different about this book and it hits you in a way that even other emotional books don’t. Beckett truly is a version of a real life good guy. Like I said there is by no means anything perfect about him, but there is just something about men who redeem themselves and change for the better. You’re going to not even know what hit you after reading this book. If this is your first Emma Scott book you’re first thought will probably be “How have I not picked up any of her books until now.” Then you’ll probably binge all of her books like I did! If you’re in the mood for the sweetest good guy in the entire world then hurry up and get Beckett in your life, you won’t regret it!

At age fourteen, Zelda Rossi witnessed the unthinkable, and has spent the last ten years hardening her heart against the guilt and grief. She channels her pain into her art: a dystopian graphic novel where vigilantes travel back in time to stop heinous crimes—like child abduction—before they happen. Zelda pitches her graphic novel to several big-time comic book publishers in New York City, only to have her hopes crash and burn. Circumstances leave her stranded in an unfamiliar city, and in an embarrassing moment of weakness, she meets a guarded young man with a past he’d do anything to change...
Beckett Copeland spent two years in prison for armed robbery, and is now struggling to keep his head above water. A bike messenger by day, he speeds around New York City, riding fast and hard but going nowhere, his criminal record holding him back almost as much as the guilt of his crime.
Zelda and Beckett form a grudging alliance of survival, and in between their stubborn clash of wills, they slowly begin to provide each other with the warmth of forgiveness, healing, and maybe even love. But when Zelda and Beckett come face to face with their pasts, they must choose to hold on to the guilt and regret that bind them, or let go and open their hearts for a shot at happiness.

4. Be The Girl by K.A. Tucker

Woahhhhh there buddy, you saw the YA title on this list too? Don’t worry, if you’re here for the good guy romance then you’re still in the right place. Emmett just happens to be a bit younger then the rest of the guys on this list! He’s still the epitome of a boy next door.... literally, our homeboy lives next door! Aria moves to a new town and is ready to start over, and who better to show her around and be her new friends then the boy next door, Emmett. Oh our sweet boy Emmett! He’s so selfless and caring, and I don’t think this boy has a purposefully mean bone in his body. My favorite part of this book is Emmett, hands down.
Also the author takes a subject like bullying and gives you a completely different take on it. SO if you’re not here for the romance then I still recommend picking up this book because it’s so well written and K.A. Tucker does a fantastic job with representation! My other favorite part of this book was Cassie, and seeing Emmett interact and care for his little sister. Bringing Aria into their little duo just makes your heart melt and you begin to fall for Emmett just like Aria does! For 95% of this book you think you have an idea where it’s going, but really you have no clue. Trust me when I say this book is so enlightening and you’ll really look at things differently.
So Emmett may be a really good guy but the romance part of this book is still very first love like, and even in the end you know that it’s still a very young love and really anything could happen to our couple. I still felt like the book though was well rounded and Emmett is still the guy you’d want as not only your boyfriend but just a friend in general. So he may not as be as swoon worthy as some of the other guys, but his heart is probably three times bigger then the others and for that I recommend this book with all of MY heart! Perfect for young adults and really anyone who wants a heartwarming book about young love and really finding yourself! Don’t be surprised when the author teaches you things you had no idea you were even learning!
Almost sixteen-year-old Aria Jones is starting over. New postal code, new last name, new rules. But she doesn’t mind, because it means she can leave her painful regrets behind. In the bustling town of Eastmonte, she can become someone else. Someone better.
With the Hartford family living next door, it seems she will succeed. Sure, Cassie Hartford may be the epitome of social awkwardness thanks to her autism, but she also offers an innocent and sincere friendship that Aria learns to appreciate. And Cassie’s older brother, Emmett—a popular Junior A hockey player with a bright future—well … Aria wishes that friendship could lead to something more. If he didn’t already have a girlfriend, maybe it would.
But Aria soon finds herself in a dicey moral predicament that could derail her attempt at a fresh start. It is her loyalty to Cassie and her growing crush on Emmett that leads her to make a risky move, one that earns her a vindictive enemy who is determined to splinter her happy new world.

5. Dearest Clementine by Lex Martin

College romance where the female student takes a romance writing class? Sexy RA who gives her inspiration? Sign me up! This is the part where I tell you how swoon worthy Gavin is so hold on.........

I think you guys get it.......
This book was on my tbr forever, and I mean forever! Then one day I finally made the move and purchased it on amazon! You know the best books are the ones that are sitting on your tbr for like years, so take a note from me and skim through some of those old tbr books and you might find your next favorite book!
Alright back to Gavin, you know...the good stuff!
One thing is for sure, Clementine is like every other new adult college student. She has a traumatic past and is trying to overcome it. You know the deal by now, but anyways this author gives us something so amazing in return for the generic NA plot. GAVIN. Gavin is exactly what not only this story and us readers needed, but also Clementine. We get to see him not only reach out and try and help her grow, but also try and protect her. Literally the perfect book boyfriend! Seeing build this “relationship” through the romance book she was writing was so different and definitely steamy. You know it’s just part of her “book”, but you also know that for at least Gavin it’s real... REAL AF. So yeah this author teases us the entire book all while giving us a male character that we have no choice but to love. He’s just to.. to. TO.. to good!!!! Uh I’m crying now. Not really, but I’m dramatic and trying to get my point across! GEEZ.
So guys look no further for your next favorite book boyfriend because you found him! Gavin and Lex Martin will give you all the feels and it’s definitely one of those addicting new adult books. So if that’s your favorite genre then you just won twice! Good guy (check) New adult college romance (check).
I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did, and if you loved Dearest Clementine the author has more books full of wonderful stories and characters so definitely check them out too!

Twenty-year-old Clementine Avery doesn't mind being called bitchy and closed off. It's safe, and after being burned by her high school sweetheart and stalked by a professor her freshman year of college, safe sounds pretty damn good.
Her number one rule for survival? No dating. That is until she accidentally signs up for a romance writing class and needs material for her latest assignment. Sexy RA Gavin Murphy is more than happy to play the part of book boyfriend to help Clem find some inspiration, even if that means making out … in the name of research, of course.
As Gavin and Clem grow closer, they get entangled in the mystery surrounding a missing Boston University student, and Clem unwittingly becomes a possible target. Gavin tries to show Clem she can handle falling in love again, but she knows she has to be careful because her heart’s at stake … and maybe even her life
