Favorite podcasts

Hey Guys! Bringing you something a little bit different today, but different is fun right?! So this past year I have to say has been the year of podcasts! I really feel like they’ve jumped in popularity, especially true crime! Which I am HERE for because I am a true crime addict! So today I compiled a list of my top five favorite podcasts! It’s a little bit of a mix and every single one of these I am up to date on and listen to religiously ! (except for one but I’ll explain!) I listen to podcasts at work and while commuting, and it’s been SUCH a game changer! I hope you guys find at least one of your new favorites on my list, and as always if you have any recommendations let me know! xo

1. Crime Junkie

Udjghfdjgbfdkgndfjkndjk <------- That’s the best way to describe my love for this podcast! Like I said I am a huge true crime fan and this was the first one I ever listened to! And it still remains the best podcast I’ve ever listened to! My ultimate number one!! I started listening to this one before it became super popular, and I’ve seen the love for this one grow! I'm not surprised though at the growth of this podcast! Ash & Brit are amazing story tellers, and you get sucked in SO quickly. They mostly do unsolved cases, and when a case they’ve covered in the past becomes solved they do updates. Ash and Brit are very dedicated to true crime and helping spread the word about unsolved cases. The dedication can be heard through their podcast and you can tell that not only are they passionate about talking about true crime, but also helping. They recently just launched their merch store and have an entire line of merch where the proceeds go to a foundation that helps solve cold cases! My favorite part of this podcast though is the seriousness and the way it captures your attention. Trust me, if you love true crime and a good story then check this podcast out. You’ll end up with Full. Body. Chills....

2. Smart Women Read Romance

A podcast where two women talk about their favorite romance books? Sign me up! Not only do Jessen and Juliette talk about their favorite romance books, but they do minisodes where they do fun segments like favorite book boyfriends and romance pet peeves! This podcast honestly feels like your discussing your favorite books with your best friends! Every single episode makes me want to reread the book they're discussing! I love the insight that Jessen and Juliette give for each book, and the unique aspects they put on their podcast to make it stand out! Another thing I really love about these hosts is their openness to suggestions from listeners! I also love their personalities and how they both just sound like they actually love talking about romance books, and I feel like that spreads to the listener and you can’t help but have a good time. I also enjoy how these ladies don't hold anything back and tell you exactly how they feel! Really such a fun and hilarious podcast! I definitely recommend this to all my romance lovers out there!!!

3. Mom’s and Murder

You’ve probably read the title and you’re thinking all kinds of weird things right now. Moms....and murder? No it’s not about mom’s who murder people, trust me!!! Mandy and Melissa reassure you about that a few times, so don't worry! It’s just two moms who love true crime! Mom’s and Murder tends to cover cases that are already solved so it’s a little different then Crime Junkie, and it’s also not leaning to heavy on the serious side! Mandy and Melissa have a good time and I’m always laughing my butt of with them! They’re so funny, but not so ridiculous that when they're speaking about true crime it's unrealistic. They still bring you a good chilling story, but with a side of comedic relief. Mandy and Melissa also bring uniqueness to their show and have a lot of fun segments like We Googled This City, where they tell you fun facts about the town the episode is in. Or their Last Thing Before We Go where they take questions from their listeners and answer them! With each episode I know that not only am I getting my fix for true crime, but also Melissa and her jokes never let me down! Another positive about this podcast is that there is NO cussing or anything suggestive! Totally kid safe, but not really because True Crime? But you get it! Definitely check this one out if you love true crime that’s a little bit on the lighter side!

4. Read Me Romance

If you love reading romance then you need to download these episodes ASAP! Read Me Romance is pretty much exactly that, romance being read to you. So free audiobooks! Anything better then that? Well actually some pretty popular romance authors are the hosts! Tessa Bailey and Alexa Riley! This podcast brings you never before read novella’s and short stories by some pretty popular authors like BB Reid, Ruby Dixon, Aurora Rose Reynolds, Sara Ney, Kennedy Fox, Alessandra Torre, Jen Frederick, Kennedy Ryan, Claire Contreras, as wells as our lovely authors who host too! It’s a wonderful way to get free romance books, and the intro song is pretty awesome! Plus Tessa Bailey is pretty funny! Each episode has a pat of the audiobook and at the beginning the hosts discuss the previous episode! Definitely a fun podcast and another good recommendation for my romance lovers!

5. Serial

This is the one podcast where I only recommend the first season. Specifically the case of Adnan Syed! Sarah Koenig has you on the edge of your seat and you’re hooked from episode one! What I love about this podcast is that you get a season to digest the case and not just a single episode! You really get involved and you can’t help but binge it as quickly as possible. Also there is just something about this narrators voice that makes it so... intense? This whole dang thing is intense! I’ve tried listening to season two and three, but I couldn’t get into those as much. Maybe I was so spoiled in the Adnan case that I just felt like nothing could compare! It’s definitely intriguing seeing interviews and hearing from people that were involved in the case, and even Adnan himself! It’s feels like a tv show, and you’ll be wondering if he’s innocent or guilty! This is another one for my true crime lovers, but I feel like anyone could fall in love with this podcast! So definitely check it out!
