Make Me Bad
by R.S. Grey
4/5
“I can be bad all on my own. If this were a movie,
a sick beat would drop at this exact moment.”
Does R.S. Grey get better and better with each book? And funnier? Yes, the answer is yes! This is definitely another typical rom com from R.S. Grey, and yet I still loved it! Who doesn't want more romantic comedies in their life?!! I really feel like someone needs to pick up some of R.S. Grey’s books for a movie! We need more good romantic comedy movies! I feel like we don’t get really good ones anymore like we used to!!! Remember like 2010-2014 when we would get a cute romantic comedy each summer!?! Letters to Juliet, Leap Year, etc! I really feel like R.S. Grey’s books would make the cutest movies! Maybe one day my dreams will come true, but for now I am so happy that R.S. Grey produces books like crazy! This book in particular is the perfect lighthearted and fun summer beach read!
I was issued a warning: stay away from Ben Rosenberg.
As Clifton Cove’s resident “king”, he thinks he’s entitled to anyone and anything.
The trouble is, I’ve spent my whole life following the rules and playing it safe. I know what it feels like to be the good girl. I’m the police chief’s daughter and a librarian—for adorable children, no less.
An all-nighter with a fictional hunk is about as exciting as my life gets until one day, fate decides to take pity on me and shove me straight into the path of Mr. Off-Limits himself.
Just as I suspected, every inch of him promises to be my demise. Up close, he’s tall, menacing—a lawyer who looks like he’ll bite. A well-behaved girl would do as she’s told and avoid him at all costs, but I’m overdue for a little rebellion.
So, I ignore the warning and throw caution to the wind. But Ben doesn’t just nudge me out of my comfort zone—he thrusts me into a dark corner and presses his hard body against mine, covering my mouth with his hand to ensure we don’t get caught sneaking around. In that moment, I finally understand why everyone thinks he’s going to ruin me.
To him, this is all a game.
He wants to tempt me with his dares and taunt me with his words.
I should play along. After all, I asked him to make me bad. I just never thought he’d take his job quite so seriously..
Madison is seriously so cute! I loved her character and I felt like she was so different from most female leads we're used to in most romance books! I literally died reading her and Ben’s library scenes... When she dressed him up as Mr.Darcy!!!!!! SO CUTE! I really loved the dynamic between Ben and Madison, and I felt like R.S. Grey created one of her best couples yet with these two! During this entire book you know a lot of their interactions are part of the “game” or the “plan”, and oh man if that doesn’t add major tension to the relationship! We also get to see them actually falling for each other and seeing Ben’s perspective was definitely a plus to this book!! I also really loved seeing Ben get Madison out of her shell and helping her realize that she can be whoever she wants to be. This is definitely a slow burn romance for R.S. Grey, I think she even said that before this one was released. It’s so cute and filled with so many romantic sweet moments! This book will consume you and you’ll want to finish this in one sitting, which is exactly what I did!
Another part of this book I loved was the small town aspect, there is just something about a small town romance! I also really liked the family relationships and seeing Madison being torn between wanting to branch out on her own, but also not wanting to leave her family which I think is honestly a real struggle a lot of people deal with. R.S. Grey just does a wonderful job of giving life and depth to her characters and making them just feel so alive! I've never disliked one of her books and I feel like Make Me Bad was a wonderful addition to her work!
If you want a lighthearted, steamy, and laugh out loud romance then really this is the book for you! I can’t recommend this book or really any of R.S. Grey’s books enough! She does an awesome job of taking your mind off of things and letting you for a short time focus on something SO good and SO distracting! I get so absorbed into her characters and plots, and honestly I just can’t get enough!
If you have read this book and all of her other work then you should definitely check out Losing It by Cora Carmack, or really any of Cora Carmack’s work!!
