The Gravity of Us

The Gravity Of Us

by Brittany C. Cherry
5/5

“Sometimes when your heart wanted a full-length novel, the world only gave you a novella,

and sometimes when you wanted forever you only had those few seconds of now.”

There are good books in the world, even great ones. However there are some books that attach themselves to your soul and are just on a whole other LEVEL. The Gravity of Us was a book I had no intentions on picking up. It wasn’t even on my TBR,  and I’ve only ever read one book by this author and I wasn’t to impressed. When I saw that Jessica from PeaceLoveBooks gave it five stars and was raving about it I knew I had to pick it up. So being the mood reader I am I went to Amazon and one clicked this baby! (if you didn’t know the authors books are on KU!!!) I am SO glad I gave this book a chance because it was one of the best books I’ve ever read and it’s quickly made it to my top five favorites of ALL time.
Be prepared though- this book is not a fluffy sweet romance. It is a gut wrenching emotional rollercoaster that will have you laughing one second and then crying the next. So be in the mood for an emotional romance, and don’t let that scare you away because this book is just beautiful. No other word for it but magnificently beautiful and trust me, you won’t be able to forget about this book for a long time!

Graham Russell and I weren’t made for one another.
I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed.
Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other’s secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears, and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.
Those seconds left us floating, but when reality knocked us sideways, gravity forced us to descend.
Graham Russell wasn’t a man who knew how to love, and I wasn’t a woman who knew how to either. Yet if I had the chance to fall again, I’d fall with him forever.
Even if we were destined to crash against solid ground.

I’m going to do you guys a favor and not give you too many details on this book. The best way to read this book, or really any book like this is just to go in blind. You get the full experience that way and it’s SO worth it for these types of books! Like I said this is the kind of book that sticks with you, and I knew going in that this book was going to be emotional. However I didn’t seem to quite grasp how emotional it was going to be. From literally page one we start with the emotions and you instantly begin to feel sympathy for Lucy.
Lucy all in her own is a reason to read this book. She is such a strong character and to see what she goes through wrecks you, and just the fact that after everything our girl STILL has love to give also breaks my heart. I felt for her so much during this book, and I just wanted her to finally have her happy ending. Then we meet Graham (or Graham Cracker as Lucy likes to call him) and the moment we see our main two characters together you know there is no turning back. I was so happy when they finally met and I was like YES finally our girl can get something positive in her life, and then a door opens and it’s ALL ruined. I was so shocked at this part of the book, and I really had to applaud Brittany C. Cherry for her writing. I could not have even come close to guessing where this book was going to go. The author incorporates such beautiful plot points in this book, and one of the things that brings Graham and Lucy close is honestly SO perfect to me, and it just fit this book so well. The author really did an outstanding job picking the right situations and even the way she handles them. (you can probably tell I’m being very vague because literally any part of this book is SUCH a spoiler)
I feel like this book spoiled me for all the romance books out there, well at least for a while. I was addicted to these characters and their story and I literally did not put this book down once I started reading. Uh just even writing about them makes me feel all the feels. I don’t know how to explain it that good, but my feelings for this book are SO intense and I feel like everyone needs to read this book asap! You won’t regret it, and I can guarantee that after you read it you’ll be shaking your head because you waited until now to read this piece of pure gold! This also just goes to show you that even if one book of an author’s isn’t for you that doesn’t mean they all aren’t. So if you have read this author’s work and didn’t loooooooove it, I recommend still trying this book because it is just magnificent and I will go to my grave recommending this book to people. Strangers? I don’t care. My boss? Sure. Literally anyone! READ THIS BOOK!!!
If you have read this book and need more like it you should check out Kandi Steiner, Mia Sheridan or K.A. Tucker’s work! xo
