Say You Still Love Me

Say You’ll Still Love Me

by K.A. Tucker
4/5

Can this book please be made into a movie?? I mean I feel like there’s already a hallmark movie out there JUST like this except during Christmas and not the summer. Cute and light are the perfect words to describe this book. I mean K.A. Tucker does it again! Did this book replace my love for The Simple Wild? NO, didn’t even come close but it was still a sweet summer read that had me SO nostalgic for my childhood and my summers at camp! So if you want a sweet romance with a tiny bit of angst then you’re in the right place!

On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus, she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancĂ©—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.
Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group Industries, and coincidentally the first love of her life.
The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counsellors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.
Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

I was a little nervous that this book was going to be cliche and a flop, but it was far from it! I mean some parts of the book were a little bit predictable and I would have liked a little more from the ending, but overall you get what you expect you’re going to get going into this book-a cute romance! One of my favorite parts of this book were the flashbacks! I loved seeing the creation of the relationship and how it affects our couple in the modern day! The summer camp vibe definitely had me feeling nostalgic, and I think it added so much to the appeal of this book! Even though we see our couple fall in a first love type of love it feels kind of epic. An once again I think thats in part to the flashbacks, I mean it definitely added the tension and emotion to the relationship!
In the modern day Piper is working at her father’s company and rooming with Ashley and Christa, that’s right- her friends from camp! What happened to Kyle you may ask? Good question because Piper has no idea either. After getting fired from camp Wawa and going their separate ways Kyle never contacted her, and in the end he broke her heart. So when Kyle is the new security guard in her building so many feelings begin to resurface.
I definitely preferred the modern time scenes and the relationship that they begin when they're adults, but like I said it wouldn’t have been half as good without the flashbacks. Also this is where that predictability enters. Like I said some scenes were easy to guess, and I quickly realized why Kyle dropped off the face of the earth, and I also had an inkling of what happened to one of the characters from cap Wawa. I still enjoyed it and loved every second of it! AS for the ending, well it was good but it could have been a little bit more. I just felt like we needed that extra bit to make it just as amazing as the rest of the book!
Overall though the story is cute, the characters are well written and the setting is perfect! I definitely recommend you pick this up before the summer ends ! If you have read this and want something similar you should check out Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey!
