Alright guys be prepared to lose yourself in the world of Nevada Baylor and Mad Rogan! Freaking Mad Rogan y’all. Enough said right there, read this book for the broody, sarcastic guy who falls so desperately in love with our kick ass independent heroine. I love the way the authors write the heroine’s in their books. Every single one of them are strong and don’t need NO MAN but heck, if someone like Connor “Mad” Rogan kidnapped me and put me in his basement I’d be down.... SO DOWN. Want to know more? Already hooked? Good, go read this series!

To not spoil you I won’t go to into detail about anything really, but especially not the second or third book! So the first time we ever get to see Nevada Baylor is when she is on a job. That’s right, you heard correctly! Our girl is a private investigator! Imagine Veronica Mars on paranormal crack! The world that these authors create is so unique and well... magical! most people have powers and they’re labeled depending on the strength of said power! For example our walking sex magnet Mad Rogan is a prime, the best of the best, and even then he’s on a way other level then the other primes. Nothing better then a man that drips power.... uh that’s one of my favorite things in a man! Jesus hold the wheel! And trust me Mad Rogan does NOT let us down! He is dripping masculinity and is down right sexy! Our heroine on the other hand is just trying to get by day by day, and the last thing she needs is Mad Rogan involving himself in a case that she HAS to solve, or else. ELSE. So yeah she’s pissed. She’s also pissed that he kidnaps her and tries to rip information out of her head. Oh and the best part? He dumps her at her mother’s front door when he’s done! From the first time our MC meet you know its going to be a hilarious journey full of sexual tension, and it sure is! However Rogan and Nevada become a team and I loved seeing them work together. They really balance each other out, and sort of bring out the good in each other...and sometimes the bad ;) Hold up right here you guys, this is a SLOW BURN romance, so be prepared for only a kiss in book one. YES JUST A KISS! I feel like the authors did this on purpose though to make you binge all three books as quickly as possible, and trust me this is what will happen......
Besides the relationship the plot was off the charts! I could have probably read this book without the romance, I mean not that I’d want to, but it just brings credit to how off the charts the story was and how invested you become! It’s the same in all three books, and you will NEED to know what happens. Ilona Andrews however sets their series up to where you don’t get all the answers until book three, and again this is a tactic to get you so addicted to this series that you won't be able to put it down, and it worked!

If the plot wasn’t enough the family dynamic is worth it alone to read this book! I mean can I be part of Nevada’s family? I love the relationship she had with everyone in her family, but I especially loved her non-knitting, mechanic grandmother who constantly had grease stains on her clothes, oh and sarcastic comments at the ready! This series is also filled with wonderful side characters, and you not only just like them but you end up loving them and actually getting a little invested in them as well! Speaking of side characters Catalina (Nevada’s little sister) is getting her own series and the first book releases this month! August 27th to be exact, so if you do read this series and love it, don’t worry it isn’t over yet!
I could go on and on, but this series is really amazing and you just need to experience it yourself! Three books isn’t bad for a paranormal romance series, I mean some of these bad boys have like ten books!
